Interpreting in the Criminal Justice System
Interpreters play a crucial role in administration of justice. They provide meaningful language access that helps protect the rights of non-English speakers and ensure that the court decision is well-informed and fair.
This course will prepare you to interpret in a variety of criminal justice settings: law enforcement agencies, criminal courts, prisons, probation agencies, etc. Upon the completion of the course students will be well familiar with the different concepts applied in the justice system, and able to provide more accurate interpretation working in criminal justice settings in all interpreting modalities.
