About Us

Linguist Education Online (LEO) was founded in 2009 by a court-certified interpreter Jinny Bromberg, linguist training developer and passionate advocate for quality language access. Apart from training solutions for interpreters and translators, LEO also provides expert webinars and hosts highly acclaimed international online conferences twice a year.

Among LEO’s services are Language Proficiency Testing and Interpreter Performance Assessment, as well as one-on-one virtual lessons with instructors. LEO’s interpreter courses are available in Albanian, Arabic, Cantonese, French, Haitian Creole, Hmong, German, Korean, Mandarin, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Vietnamese. All LEO’s instructors are certified interpreters and translators, with years of trainer experience. We are known in the industry for convenience, great user experience, fast CEU turnaround and comprehensive high-quality training.

Since its inception, LEO has been committed to equipping interpreters and translators with the tools necessary for quality language service. Today, we are proud to work not only with individual students, but also collaborate with state courts, municipalities, call centers and healthcare organizations to provide quality training and testing for their bilingual staff. We also work with language service companies testing applicants and helping them to maintain quality assurance for their clients.

As we continue to grow, we are determined to ensure that the standards of professional interpretation and translation are consistently upheld by our students.

Meet the Team

Executive Director: Jinny Bromberg

Executive Director: Jinny Bromberg

Jinny is an innovator in the language industry and has dedicated her career to fostering language access and promoting diversity. She is a bilingual speaker of English and Russian, and the very first state-certified Russian court interpreter in Michigan. Jinny is also proficient in Georgian and Ukrainian and aspires to learn American Sign Language (ASL). When she's not immersed in the language world (which is most of the time), Jinny enjoys traveling and jet skiing.

Since 2009, Jinny has been designing and implementing training courses and workshops at LEO, empowering interpreters and translators to refine their skills and reach new heights in their career. In the midst of travel restrictions of 2020, under Jinny's guidance, LEO launched its biannual virtual conference, providing linguists and other language access professionals with the opportunity to continue learning and networking from the comfort of their homes. The inaugural event was a resounding success, and LEO has since continued to host conferences twice a year, in June and December.

For Jinny, the most rewarding aspect of her job is the endless opportunities for learning and growing, as well as witnessing the dedication of professionals in the language industry. Her passion and vision continue to make a lasting impact on the world of translation and interpreting.
